Our History
In 2008, Mr. Korsakul Punyavardhana meets Mr. Masatake Yamaguchi, a Japanese gentleman and Go-dan (五段) kyudoka who becomes his Kyudo Master, at Horseshoe Point Country Club in Pattaya where he meets fellow kyudoka, Mr. Isao Katsushika (Yo-dan/四段) and Mr. Paolo Moscatelli (San-dan/参段/三) .
At the beginning Korsakul practice alone and create a facebook group in order to gather all kyudo practitioners in Thailand. That works very well with Paolo Moscatelli, who just moved from Los Angeles where his sensei, Rick Beal, head coach at Nanka Kyudo Kai, points him to Siam Kyudo Society page.
Korsakul and Paolo are later joined by Isao Katsushika and Siam Kyudo Kai is officially established in 2010.
Through the last few years, many people have joined our Kyudo association and we have been blessed by many senpai and sensei who joined and shared their knowledge with us.
Siam Kyudo Kai was established with the vision of creating a community for Kyudo practitioners living in Thailand, both Thai and international members, to practice together, exchange knowledge, and preserve the traditional spirit of Japanese Kyudo.
Since its establishment, the organization has operated as a non-profit community dedicated to supporting and promoting Kyudo in Thailand through the cooperation and contribution of its members and practitioners.
In 2025 We are pleased to announce that Siam Kyudo Kai has officially become a recognized member of the International Kyudo Federation (IKYF), and the organization has now been renamed “Thailand Kyudo Kai” to represent Thailand in the international Kyudo community.
Thailand Kyudo Kai welcomes anyone interested in learning Kyudo. Instruction and guidance are provided free of charge, with training based on traditional Japanese Kyudo practice. Our learning environment focuses on sharing knowledge, mutual support, and continuous self-development for practitioners of all levels.
